Installing skins on an MSI laptop

MSI gaming laptops have complex surface geometry — aggressive venting, RGB zones on some models, and angled panels on Stealth and Raider. The install guide marks tack points for each specific model.

Start by aligning the lid using tack points. Once positioned correctly, work the squeegee outward from the tack points, pushing air toward the edges. The bottom panel comes next — take extra care on vent cutouts, which are more complex than most laptops.

Room temperature around 70°F works best. Every MSI model we cover has a dedicated install video posted online.

Most installs take 20–40 minutes for a careful first-timer. The install video for your specific model walks through each panel. We include two skins per order, so if the first install doesn't go as planned, you have a second to try again.

What if the skin doesn't fit my laptop?

Every template is designed on the actual device before release, so fit issues are rare. If something's off, reach out — we'll offer install help or process a return on unused, non-custom orders. Check the install guide for cutout reference before installing if you're unsure.

How do I find my exact MSI model?

Flip the laptop over — the model is printed on the bottom label (something like Stealth 16 Studio A13VG or Katana 15 B13V). MSI uses similar names across years, so the full string matters.

Can I remove the skin later?

Our skins are designed to peel off with heat from a hair dryer. Apply gentle heat to the edge, lift slowly, and the skin should come up without leaving residue. Always test with low heat first on textured or painted chassis.

Does the skin cover the MSI dragon logo?

Most MSI templates cut around the dragon logo so it stays visible (and the RGB lighting stays on, on models that have it). Some designs cover it fully. The product page for each MSI model shows which option is available.
