Microsoft Laptop Skins

Most installs take 20–40 minutes for a careful first-timer. The install video for your specific model walks through each panel. We include two skins per order, so if the first install doesn't go as planned, you have a second to try again.

Every template is designed on the actual device before release, so fit issues are rare. If something's off, reach out — we'll offer install help or process a return on unused, non-custom orders. Check the install guide for cutout reference before installing if you're unsure.

Flip the laptop over — the model is printed on the bottom label (like Surface Laptop 5 or Surface Laptop Studio 2). The generation matters — Microsoft reuses model names across hardware revisions. If you can't read the label, Device Manager in Windows also shows the full model.

Our skins are designed to peel off with heat from a hair dryer. Apply gentle heat to the edge, lift slowly, and the skin should come up without leaving residue. Always test with low heat first on textured or painted chassis.

We recommend against installing skins over Alcantara. The fabric texture prevents the adhesive from bonding correctly. Our templates cover the aluminum panels — lid and bottom — not the fabric palm rest. If your Surface has Alcantara, the skin goes on everywhere else.
