Material picks for Razer laptops

Razer Blade laptops have a distinctive look — unibody aluminum construction, dark anodized finish, and the triple-snake logo on the lid. Material choice works best when it either matches the premium construction or deliberately transforms it.

Matte Black is the obvious pick if you want to preserve the clean Razer aesthetic. Black Carbon Fiber and Forged Carbon amplify the gaming-performance positioning while maintaining the dark color palette.

For a less predictable look, Satin Aluminum and Brushed Aluminum lighten the chassis while keeping the metallic feel. Prism and Satin Ocean Shimmer add color-shift effects that work well with the premium Razer positioning — distinctive without being loud.

Installing skins on a Razer Blade

Razer Blade laptops have clean unibody construction with precise cutout requirements — the logo, vents, and edge rounding need exact alignment. The install guide marks tack points for each specific model.

Start by aligning the lid using tack points — the Razer logo cutout is typically the primary reference. Work the squeegee outward from those points, pushing air toward the edges. The bottom panel comes next, with vent cutouts as the alignment reference.

Blades have tighter edge tolerances than most laptops — take extra care wrapping edges. Room temperature around 70°F works best. Every Blade model we cover has a dedicated install video posted online.

How long does it take to install a laptop skin?

Most installs take 20–40 minutes for a careful first-timer. The install video for your specific model walks through each panel. We include two skins per order, so if the first install doesn't go as planned, you have a second to try again.

What if the skin doesn't fit my laptop?

Every template is designed on the actual device before release, so fit issues are rare. If something's off, reach out — we'll offer install help or process a return on unused, non-custom orders. Check the install guide for cutout reference before installing if you're unsure.

Do all Razer Blade 14/15/16 models use the same skin?

No. Even within the same screen size, Razer updates the chassis year to year — vent placement, port layout, and logo dimensions shift. Match the exact model and year on the product page. If your year isn't listed, use the Request a Skin page.

Can I remove the skin later?

Our skins are designed to peel off with heat from a hair dryer. Apply gentle heat to the edge, lift slowly, and the skin should come up without leaving residue. Always test with low heat first on textured or painted chassis.

Does the skin preserve the Razer logo RGB on the lid?

Yes. Razer Blade templates cut around the triple-snake logo so the RGB stays fully visible. The logo looks exactly as it did before, framed by whatever material you chose.
