Installing skins on an MSI Vector

Vector laptops sit between Katana complexity and Stealth cleanliness. The install guide marks tack points for each Vector model.

Start by aligning the lid using tack points. Work the squeegee outward. The bottom panel comes next. Room temperature around 70°F works best.

How long does it take to install a laptop skin?

Most installs take 20–40 minutes for a careful first-timer. The install video for your specific model walks through each panel. We include two skins per order, so if the first install doesn't go as planned, you have a second to try again.

What if the skin doesn't fit my laptop?

Every template is designed on the actual device before release, so fit issues are rare. If something's off, reach out — we'll offer install help or process a return on unused, non-custom orders. Check the install guide for cutout reference before installing if you're unsure.

How often does MSI update the Vector chassis?

Annually. Match the year as well as the model code — a 2024 Vector has a different chassis than a 2025 Vector even with the same model name. Check the bottom label for the full model and year string.

Can I remove the skin later?

Our skins are designed to peel off with heat from a hair dryer. Apply gentle heat to the edge, lift slowly, and the skin should come up without leaving residue. Always test with low heat first on textured or painted chassis.

Are different Vector models (GP66, GP76, etc.) interchangeable?

No. MSI uses different chassis for each Vector variant. Match the exact model code (GP66HX, GP77, etc.) on the product page — the numbering matters.
