Installing skins on an Asus ROG Strix

Strix laptops have the most complex surface geometry in the Asus lineup — aggressive venting, RGB light bars, and multiple angled panels. The install guide marks tack points for each specific Strix model.

Start by aligning the lid using tack points. Work the squeegee outward from those points, pushing air toward the edges. The bottom panel comes next — take extra time on vent cutouts, which are larger and more complex than most laptops.

What if the skin doesn't fit my laptop?

Every template is designed on the actual device before release, so fit issues are rare. If something's off, reach out — we'll offer install help or process a return on unused, non-custom orders. Check the install guide for cutout reference before installing if you're unsure.

Is the Strix SCAR skin different from the regular Strix?

Yes. SCAR models have different lid geometry and extra design details. Match the exact model — a Strix G16 skin will not fit a Strix SCAR 16 even though they're the same year.

Can I remove the skin later?

Our skins are designed to peel off with heat from a hair dryer. Apply gentle heat to the edge, lift slowly, and the skin should come up without leaving residue. Always test with low heat first on textured or painted chassis.

Does the skin affect the RGB light bar on Strix models?

No. Templates cut around the RGB light bar so it stays fully visible and functional. The bar illuminates through whatever material frames it.
