Installing skins on an Asus ROG laptop

ROG laptops have complex surface geometry — aggressive venting, angled panels, and RGB zones on most models. The install guide marks tack points for each specific model.

Start by aligning the lid using tack points. Work the squeegee outward from those points, pushing air toward the edges. The bottom panel comes next, with vent cutouts as the alignment reference. Room temperature around 70°F works best.

No. Vent cutouts are designed around the airflow zones, not over them. The vinyl is thin enough that it doesn't change thermal dissipation through the chassis panels. Most users report no temperature difference after install.

Can I remove the skin later?

Our skins are designed to peel off with heat from a hair dryer. Apply gentle heat to the edge, lift slowly, and the skin should come up without leaving residue. Always test with low heat first on textured or painted chassis.

Does the skin cover the ROG logo on the lid?

Most ROG templates cut around the illuminated logo so the RGB stays visible. Some designs cover it fully for a cleaner look — the product page for each model shows which option is available.
